Course Description:

This course is to introduce basic understanding of solid state physics to students. Solid state physics involves a combination of quantum mechanics (QM) and statistical mechanics (SM), where the primary forces are electrodynamic. Therefore, knowledges in QM, SM and electrodynamics are essential for this course. The topics of this semester include:
- Crystal structure and binding
- Lattice vibrations
- Electron energy bands
- Metals and semiconductors

本課程介紹固態物理的基本知識。固態物理所研究關心的課題堙A通常包含了量子力學
及統計熱力學,而電磁力是其最主要的作用力,因此修課學生應具備基本熱物理,電磁
學及近代物理之知識。課程主題包含:
